Jay Godfrey by Jay GodfreyJay Godfrey's 70s inspired FW 2016 collection captivated us with romantic Ruffles, asymmetric silhouettes, bold colors and simplicity. The vibrant pinks/purples transitioned into shimmering blacks and deep greens which flowed into a soft pastel pink. Godfreys collection maintained the 70s flare with the right amount of flounce, shimmer and Ruffles.

Mathieu Mirano is one of the many great designers who's collections we had the pleasure of viewing up close and personal this fashion week. His shimmering sensual F/W 2016 collection gave you instant visualization of his inspiration. Having drawn his inspiration from trips to Egypt Matheiu Miranao took us on a visual journey with him. The varied color palette of his collection ranged from greens ombre into blues, the golds into oranges, reds, and purples conveyed metaphorical sunsets, beaches, and rainbows. The muted tones along with the help of actual sand and tortoises provided a real time beach atmosphere. The shimmering blacks, sequins, and sculptural shapes of these beautiful gowns made for a gorgeous and and captivating visual.
KYE By Kathleen Kye
Designer Kathleen Kye's latest KYE FW 2016 collection focuses on unconventional silhouettes, mixture of bold contrasting color blocking and mix matched styling. The collection is heavily influenced by variety of retro, unisex streetwear from different periods. This season, KYE presents different types of color palettes, mixture of multi textures, multi fabrics and much more. Below are some snapshots of the collection. A Moi By Alejandra AlonsoAlejandra Alonso’s bauhaus inspired f/w collection for À Moi was simply gorgeous the presentation along with each look conveyed her inspiration. She integrated geometric shapes into the necklines and shoulders of tops and hems of skirts figuratively and literally. The dramatic appealing flared sleeves on leather jackets, white shirts, and at the bottoms of skirts, added to the collections effect. She successful hand-crocheted knits. A one-shoulder look featuring allover cutouts and a mock neck was shown with matching cropped flared pants was personally one of our favorites. Fashion week, one of the most exciting eventful times of the year for fashionistas and design industry people everywhere. Twice a year designers put together runway shows and presentations show casing their S/S & F/W collections curated during a sixth month period. Whether a big runway production or intimate presentation the creative process is a tedious and demanding deciding factor for both the presenting designer and the success of his or her brand. The collections reveal sets the tone for how the clothing will be received by industry pears, buyers for major department stores, stylist, and well known taste makers alone with the general population, frequent shoppers at select department stores, the brands target consumer, the people who will be buying these looks. |
